In addition to general medical services and prenatal care, Pondera Medical Center’s Family Practice physicians, Dr. Peter Barran, Dr. Jay Taylor, and Dr. Patricia Grena also provide complete Obstetric as well as Labor and Delivery services, thereby making Pondera Medical Center one of very few Critical Access Hospitals in the State to continue to provide these services.
Pondera Medical Center has a top-quality labor suite and a private room for mother and baby following delivery. We have 24/7 anesthesia coverage to meet your pain management needs, and a 24/7 fully staffed Operating Room in the event a C-section is required. Most times we are able to provide one-to-one nursing care for our laboring mothers
In addition to traditional medical services, we have on staff several certified lactation consultants, as well as a local, certified perinatal educator (Donna Sanders), to provide childbirth education, breastfeeding education and natural pain coping techniques. If you are interested in participating in a childbirth or breastfeeding education class contact the Director of Nursing at 271-2289 and leave your name and number where we can contact you with upcoming class dates and times or to arrange a one-to-one session.
Pondera Medical Center also continues the long lost tradition of providing the proud parents with a “Stork Dinner” prior to discharge, which is specially prepared by the Dietary department.
If you are interested in seeing Dr. Barran, Dr. Taylor or Dr. Grena for prenatal care, delivery, and/or well child visits, please contact the Pondera Medical Center Clinic to make an appointment. |
