.Pondera Medical Center's OB program recently hired Donna Sanders to provide Lactation and Childbirth education to our community's expectant mothers. Donna explained that early in her first pregnancy she decided she would breastfeed.  She gathered all the information she could about it , and figured that it would come naturally to her.  She was surprised to find out how hard those first few months were.  She relied on the support found at the Pondera County Health Department and WIC office.  They were there for her whenever she needed some reassurance or information.   Donna stated that with their support she was able to push through the new born growth spurts and long nights.

After the birth of her second child, she decided she wanted to help women, babies, and familes.  She enrolled in a Breastfeeding Education Course and then a Childbirth Education course where she made a commitment to helping expectant and new moms by offering support and education as they ease into motherhood.

Donna states " I am very excited to be part of the PMC OB program.  I know that there are a lot of choices when it comes to the birth of your baby and my mission is to make those choices easier through infomation, care and support.  I look forward to seeing expectant moms in the classes I am offering"

Mary Coffman-Erickson, Clinical Services Director at PMC stated: " We are very happy to have Donna on our team.  Our OB program will benefit from Donna's expertise and enthusiasm that expecting and new moms will find very supportive."

Donna, a graduate of Brady High School currently lives in Brady with her husband, and 2 daughters.

Donna will be offering classes for Expecting Moms and  provides on-call breastfeeding consultation.  Both are free to patients of PMC.  Non-patients will be charged $15.00.

Donna can be reached at 799-6554.
